• 4040 humidifier solenoid valve turns water on and off to your humidifier but does not regulate volume which is done by a different part called an orifice.It contains pre-installed strainer in the inlet side of the valve for capturing clogging elements in the water such as dirt and sand.

• Prepare the following tools: Screwdriver, wrench

• Firstly, disconnect the humidifier and shut off the water supply to the unit.

• Secondly, remove the solenoid. Unclip the wires from the solenoid. Using the adjustable wrench to unscrew the compression nut.

• Thirdly, remove the distributor and tube, and let remaining water drain into the plastic container.

• Fourth, Disconnect the water supply. Use a screwdriver to unscrew the screws and discard the old.

• Finally, connect the wires to the solenoid and reconnect the humidifier.

• Watching video online can make installation easier. The videos are all detailed enough to show how to replace solenoid valve
